    Democratic Futures

The crisis of democracy over the last several years calls for a deep rethinking of the meaning of citizenship and democratic participation, ranging from electoral reforms like proportional representation to rethinking how government can create opportunities for civic power and co-governance. New America’s Democratic Futures issue area is committed to developing new strategies and innovations to counter the threat of authoritarianism, restore civic trust, and realize the potential of American democracy.
