Alex Stark was quoted in a Law360 article on the Biden administration and arms sales to the UAE.
The Biden administration is unlikely to face immediate time pressure to review the UAE deals, as there are often several years between when a foreign arms sale contract is signed and when the weapons are produced and delivered, said Alexandra Stark, a senior researcher at New America who studies those sales and other foreign policy issues.
However, the time to conduct a thorough review will likely lead to louder calls from lawmakers for the administration to review the deals, according to Stark.
"Members of Congress who oppose the arms sale certainly believe that the Biden administration can do something about it, and I imagine that they will pressure the president-elect to do something about it once he comes into office," she said.
