The Future of Property Rights Program released its Displaced in America report on September 9th, 2020, which includes maps and analysis of housing lossvia evictions and mortgage foreclosuresacross the United States. In-depth research was conducted in Forsyth County, North Carolina; Maricopa County, Arizona; and Marion County, Indiana. The report received coverage in the following outlets:

  • Tim Robustelli and Craig Richardson wrote for The Winston-Salem Journal about how Forsyth County needs lasting solutions to housing loss, effective well after the COVID-19 crisis recedes.
  • Robustelli was also quoted and FPR's local housing loss research was highlighted on a radio segment from WFDD, the NPR affiliate in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina.

  • Yuliya Panfil was quoted and FPR's research was featured extensively in an Arizona Republic article about displacement throughout the Phoenix metro area, with an emphasis on the current impact of COVID-19 on housing loss.
  • Tim Robustelli was interviewed by Lauren Gilger from KJZZ, a local NPR affiliate in Phoenix, about FPR's research on housing loss in Maricopa County amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • FPR's research on housing loss in the Valley of the Sun was the focal point of a Cronkite News article on displacement in Arizona. The article was re-syndicated in The Arizona Daily Star, a major newspaper in Tucson.

  • Yuliya Panfil appeared on the housing episode of "Where Do We Go From Here?," produced and broadcast by WFYI, the NPR affiliate in Indianapolis. Panfil discussed racial disparities within the Marion County housing space, as well as the impact of COVID-19 on housing insecurity. She was also quoted and FPR's research was featured in a WFYI article concerning housing loss.
  • Molly Martin, FPR's project partner with New America - Indianapolis, appeared on September 2nd and September 8th news segments on WISH TV to discuss the CDC's September 2020 eviction moratorium, as well as New America's research on housing instability in Indianapolis.
  • FPR's research on summertime evictions in Marion County was cited in a Side Effects radio segment regarding displacement amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The Displaced in America report, along with a related online event, were covered in a NUVO article focused on home loss in Indianapolis.
