CA EVENT: The Future of Early Education Systems in California (Pre K-3rd)

Seizing Opportunities to Propel Young Children's Learning Through the Primary Grades
Event

As California struggles to close persistent achievement gaps, it is increasingly apparent that these gaps exist at school entry and that efforts to improve the early education systems (PreK-3rd) are warranted.

Please join us in the release of "On the Cusp in California: How PreK-3rd Strategies Could Improve Education in the Golden State," a policy paper from New America's Early Education Initiative that highlights key strategies for creating a more seamless system for early learning in California.

The seminar will also feature a presentation by Children Now and new research from the Santa Clara County Partnership for School Readiness on its use of kindergarten readiness data to improve student learning through 3rd grade.

This event is a partnership of PACE, Children Now, the Santa Clara County Partnership and the New America Foundation. The New America report is funded through generous grants from the Foundation for Child Development, the W. Clement and Jessie V. Stone Foundation, and the Strategic Knowledge Fund, co-funded by the Foundation for Child Development and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

Lunch will be provided.

Please RSVP to Sandra Morales at sandram@sia-us.com.

* The PACE Seminar Series is a recurring event hosted by Policy Analysis for California Education, an independent non-partisan research center based at the University of California - Berkeley, the University of Southern California and Stanford University. PACE's Sacramento seminar series brings California's leading researchers together with policymakers for an informed discussion of the many issues facing California's education system, and for thoughtful analysis of the difficult policy choices facing our state.
