Upcoming YouthSave Event: "The Case for Youth Savings"

In May 2010, the YouthSave Consortium launched a 5-year Project that would develop, deliver and test savings accounts accessible to low-income youth. At the start of the Project, one of our central questions was whether savings accounts are a viable tool to spur development and financial inclusion for one of the world’s most vulnerable populations. A year later, the Consortium, including Save the Children, the Center for Social Development, the New America Foundation, and CGAP are meeting to discuss their experiences from their fieldwork, research and analysis.

On June 7th at 3:30pm, join the YouthSave Consortium at the New America Foundation with featured keynote speaker Michael Sherraden, author of the revolutionary book, “Assets and the Poor” and Time Magazine’s (2010) 100 most influential people. The Consortium will share new insights and ideas on a range of topics including financial capability, the policy and regulatory environment for youth savings, the business case, and opportunities and challenges to impact research and analysis.
