On Tuesday, June 5th, the Global Assets Project (GAP) will be part of a three day discussion on savings for the poor. The webinar, hosted by Microlinks will address three questions that are at the heart of the savings field: where are we now? What is working and why? Where are we headed?

On the first day, GAP’s Jamie Zimmerman, along with Debbie Dean of the Grameen Foundation, will examine the current landscape of formal savings for the poor. They will address and tackle certain assumptions that we in the savings community deal with every day, including the very definition of “savings for the poor”.

Day two will be hosted by Rossana Ramirez (Freedom from Hunger) and Jasmina Glisovic (CGAP). They will explore good practices and policy interventions with an emphasis on client perspectives and savings product development. They will also focus on savings product innovation, particularly with respect to technology’s impact on new and sustainable delivery channels.

Finally, Jamie Zimmerman will return on day three, along with Nisha Singh (SEEP Network) in order to have a candid discussion over what we still don’t know about the savings landscape. They will focus on identifying the questions that still need to be answered in order to make the savings community more impactful.

The Speakers Corner will take the form of an online, facilitated seminar from June 5th (8:00 AM EST) to June 7th (6:00 PM EST).
