Tia Caldwell is a policy analyst with the education, opportunity, and mobility initiative in New America’s higher education team. She works on creating an equitable student loan system that fosters prosperity and economic mobility.
Before joining New America, Caldwell modeled federal spending on student loans, Pell Grants, and other income support programs with a team at the Congressional Budget Office.
Caldwell holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Washington University in St. Louis.
