Nathan Fisk

Project Team Member, Cyber Citizenship Initiative

Nathan Fisk is a Project Team Member for the Cyber Citizenship Initiative and was formerly a fellow in New America’s Cybersecurity Initiative. Fisk is an assistant professor of cybersecurity education in the USF College of Education, and the community and outreach liaison for the Florida Center for Cybersecurity (FC2). He is among the inaugural group of five Fulbright Cybersecurity Scholars, having been invited to the London School of Economics in Fall 2016 to perform research on family discourses of youth privacy online. Currently, he is exploring the role of critical pedagogy within informal cybersecurity groups and developing educational resources at the intersection of cybersecurity and feminist theory. Fisk's third book, Framing Internet Safety, was published by MIT Press in December 2016. Fisk is currently serving on national working groups for both the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) and the Higher Education Information Security Council (HEISC). Fisk is additionally a USF faculty affiliate with the department of Women and Gender Studies (WGS), and a research associate with the Florida Center for Instructional Technology (FCIT).
