Meredith Hanley is the director of development for New America where she is responsible for the organization's day to day fundraising operations and development strategy and implementation. She works with its board, leadership and programs to provide strategic guidance to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization. Prior to joining New America, Meredith worked as a development advisor for the National Health Law Program and New America's Education Policy Program.
She has extensive nonprofit experience in fundraising, program development, external relations, and communications working with Education Sector, the Committee for Economic Development, the American Legislative Exchange Council, the Center for Excellence in Education, and The Lab School of Washington.
Meredith began her career as an occupational therapist working in PK12 special education and hospital-based health care. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Meredith lives in Washington, DC with her husband and daughter. She is an enthusiastic reader, golfer, traveler, and cook.
