Matt Richmond

Education Finance and Policy Consultant

Matt Richmond is an education finance and policy consultant who works with nonprofits, foundations, and state governments around the country on issues of K–12 and higher-education finance. He was previously the chief program officer of EdBuild, a thinktank and consulting group focused on reforming the nation’s inequitable and unfair distribution of education resources.

Matt is a former Fulbright fellow placed in the Malawian Office of the President and Cabinet and earlier helped found the Lisha Mtoto Initiative—a schooling and microfinance organization in Nairobi, Kenya. Matt has a Masters in International Development from the University of Pittsburgh and Bachelors in Economics and Political Science from the University of North Carolina.
