Mariah Stanley

Mariah Stanley was the Special Assistant to the President and CEO at New America. Her responsibilities included research and analysis on topics of interest to Anne-Marie Slaughter, primarily in the field of domestic family policy. She also coordinated Dr. Slaughter’s calendar, meetings, and travel related to New America and personal business. Mariah holds a B.A. from Trinity Washington University in communications, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration.

Previously, Mariah worked as an Educational Services Coordinator for the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), developing workforce programs and best practices in the areas of higher education and youth and student outreach. She provided program support, coordination and technical support for web-based educational services, and assisted with member development programs in such areas as scholarship foundation and vendor/outside resource support. She led, planned and executed APTA’s 4th Biennial Youth Summit.

She has also worked as Special Assistant to the President for the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials, a Washington-based nonprofit, where she coordinated meetings, teleconferences, travel and scheduling for the organization’s National Meeting & Training Conference. In addition, she worked closely with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to administer the Careers In Transportation for Youth (CITY) Internship Program and prepared the final report as required by the grant and in accordance with FTA guidelines.
