Liana Simonds

Liana Simonds was an events and external relations associate at New America, where she assisted in the execution of a wide range of public policy events and supported the organization’s broader communications and outreach efforts.

Prior to joining New America, Ms. Simonds served as the Briefing and Events Manager at the Campaign to Fix the Debt, a national issue campaign focused on reducing the long-term federal deficit in America. In this position, she coordinated both large and small-scale events for the Campaign and was in charge of all briefing materials prepared for principles and surrogates who participated in these events. Previously, she worked as a Policy Analyst in the Private Sector Office at the Department of Homeland Security, where her portfolio covered travel and tourism issues. Ms. Simonds graduated magna cum laude from Mount Holyoke College with a B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies.
