Lawrence McDonald

Lawrence McDonald is a security policy intern at New America's Open Technology Institute. He is completing his Master of Public Administration at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs with a concentration in Urban and Social Policy. Prior to joining OTI, McDonald conducted research on how digital technology can empower typically marginalized communities to be involved in local policy decisions. He was a digital organizer on the 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign where he drafted copy, produced talking points for surrogates, and analyzed supporter engagement. McDonald earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies from Pitzer College of the Claremont Colleges.
