Julie Brosnan is the communications associate for the Education Policy program. She supports the outreach, engagement, and overall messaging strategies for the EPP's public releases. With a passion for improving schools nationwide, Brosnan focuses on ensuring that new and important education research is being heard and understood.
Prior to joining New America, Brosnan worked for a social-emotional learning program in Wellington, New Zealand. She aided their communications work and also led the program on the ground, working with hundreds of students in schools across the capital city. Brosnan also worked on the administrative team for a mentoring and tutoring company for middle school students, as well as for a communications firm in the D.C. area where she worked on education and health initiatives. She earned a B.A. in political communication from the George Washington University, during which time she worked with Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md.), the Chronicle of Higher Education, and the American Association of University Women Lobby Corps.
