Jabari Cook served as a policy researcher with New America Chicago June-August 2025, investigating online fraud and financial stability.
He is a rising doctoral student pursuing a joint degree in Sociology and Social Policy at Princeton University. His primary research interests include poverty, safety net programs, credit and debt, and the causes and consequences of economic insecurity among marginalized communities.
Cook spent two years as a Research Assistant at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) prior to beginning their PhD. While at CBPP, he studied and helped advocate for federal fiscal and social policies aimed at supporting low- and moderate-income households. He also previously examined employment and income trajectories among disadvantaged youth while interning at The Brookings Institution.
Cook graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
