Hsia-Ching Chang

Hsia-Ching Chang was a fellow in New America’s Cybersecurity Initiative. She is an assistant professor in the department of information science, College of Information at the University of North Texas. She is affiliated with the Center for Information and Cyber Security (CICS), an interdisciplinary research center, in the University of North Texas. She received her Ph.D. and M.S. in information science from the University at Albany, State University of New York as well as M.A. in public policy from the National Taipei University in Taiwan. Her research interests concentrate on cybersecurity awareness and education, data analytics, social media, consumer Internet of Things (IoT), knowledge mapping, scientometrics, information architecture, and information interaction. She holds the Cloud Security Alliance’s CCSK (Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge), the first IT certification for secure cloud computing. She has developed and taught the graduate-level course, Information and Cyber Security, since 2015. She is the co-editor of the book Analytics and Knowledge Management in Data Analytics Applications Series published by CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group in 2018. She is the lead editor of the book entitled Cybersecurity for Information Professionals to be published by Taylor & Francis in 2020.
