Chhaya Kapadia is chief of staff for New America's Open Technology Institute, where she guides OTI's management, staffing, funding, and strategic direction. She served as OTI's interim director throughout 2022. She most recently wrote about OTI's efforts at inclusion, diversity and fairness in its hiring processes.
Kapadia joined New America after a lengthy history as a non-profit professional. Prior to seven years as COO and events director at Future of Music Coalition, she spent several years coordinating tours at noted roots music booking/management agency Concerted Efforts.
A native of Boston, Kapadia holds a B.A. from Emerson College with a major in audio engineering.
