Charles Schweik is a professor with the Department of Environmental Conservation and the School of Public Policy at University of Massachusetts at Amherst. After researching open source software communities for over a decade, he cofounded the World Librarian project with Carl Meyer (ShiftIt). The most important part of the mission is to provide a “mechanism for the people in the global south to request information that they want, not what we, the global north, think they want.”
