Austin Wright

Austin Wright is a policy analyst for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), where he supports the Nuclear Weapons Council and the Senior Policy Advisor for the Office of Defense Programs (NA-10). In his role, Austin leverages his substantial international experience and technical knowledge to coordinate NNSA activities related to the Nuclear Posture Review and provides guidance on nuclear security policies proposed by the National Security Council. Previously, Austin worked on NNSA’s Depleted Uranium activities in the Office of Secondary Stage Production Modernization and on international trade issues for the World Trade Institute located in Bern, Switzerland. Austin earned his MA in International Security from the Institut d’études politiques de Paris (SciencesPo), and his MSc in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics in 2019. His work on nuclear issues has been highlighted in Foreign Policy, as well as at the EU Nonproliferation and Disarmament Consortium and the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Originally from Michigan, Austin now resides in the Washington, DC area.
