Her recent work includes a collaboration with New America on tax benefits for low-income families. While at Kaiser Permanente, she expanded a field research program, effectively amplifying the voices of the community. Alejandra’s instinct for partnership is a key part of her success; at USC, she collaborated with colleagues across the university to conduct vital research on new learning management systems. Earlier in her career, she built her skills as a designer-researcher embedded in Agile teams at JPMorgan Chase and American Express.
Alejandra’s enthusiasm for research ignited in high school during an Illinois state pilot program in problem-based learning, modeled after IDEO’s human-centered design process. She went on to earn her degree in Visual Communications from Washington University in St. Louis. Her career path has been varied, but it's unified by a lifelong commitment to listening deeply and centering the community in her work.
