Aleena Khan is a program associate with TechCongress, which was previously based at the Open Technology Institute at New America until 2021. Before joining the team, she worked as the deputy director for content at TEDxFoggyBottom and served as a research assistant at the Institute for International Economic Policy, where she supported research focused on big data and ethics. Khan holds a B.A. in political science with a focus in public policy from The George Washington University, where she examined civil rights and technology policy issues such as facial recognition, data privacy, and encryption.
