Obama administration explored ways to bypass smartphone encryption

OTI Director, Kevin Bankston, was quoted refuting FBI Director Comey's argument that data stored in the cloud is insecure. 

“The simple fact is that data stored in the cloud is unquestionably less secure and more vulnerable to a Sony Pictures-style attack,” said Kevin Bankston, director of New America’s Open Technology Institute, referring to the hack last year of the Hollywood movie studio’s computer network.
