The Open Technology Institute at New America (OTI) joined more than 30 civil society organizations in urging representatives to vote in favor of amendments offered by members of the House Judiciary Committee, which will end Section 702 abuses by adding protections for Americans’ civil liberties, and to vote against amendments offered by members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which will weaken privacy safeguards and expand warrantless surveillance.
