The COVID-19 pandemic put a magnifying glass on the myriad faults in America’s inadequate healthcare system— inaccessibility, unaffordability, inequity, fragility—but it also revealed just how flexible the system can be in a time of crisis. Perhaps most surprisingly, the pandemic has ushered in a new era of healthcare that may actually improve our experiences as patients now and in the years ahead.

In his new book, Care After COVID, Shantanu Nundy, M.D., M.B.A., outlines a bold vision to transform care in the post-pandemic era providing a roadmap of how we can build on the explosion of telemedicine and digital health to create a more affordable and equitable health care future. As a pioneering leader in applying technology to advance health in the United States, Dr. Blumenthal will add her perspectives on re-designing public health infrastructure in this decade and beyond. She will also discuss BeatTheVirus.org, a new resource hub and social media campaign on COVID-19.
