Yascha Mounk Joins CNN's New Day

Yascha Mounk spoke with Chris Cuomo and Brooke Baldwin on CNN about Trump and his effect on democracy:

"In order for democracy to work you have to have people actually commit it to the basic values of a system. Political scientists talk about contributing a consolidated democracy when everybody accepts the basic rules of a game. And this accepts–this includes, for example, that you think your political position is legitimate. That you don't threaten to lock up your political opponents. That you say look, sometimes the press is going to write things that I don't like but that doesn't make them the enemy of me or the enemy of the people. It means that they're doing their job. It means accepting that when a judge rules against you, he's still a legitimate judge."
