2024 #ShareTheMicInCyber Fellow Pavlina Pavlova was a guest panelist on a panel titled Feminist Perspectives on Cybersecurity: Challenging Militarisation and Gendered Norms in Cyberspace hosted by the Young Security Conference. The panel discussion explored feminist perspectives and cybersecurity within the context of the EU, challenging the prevalent militarization of cyberspace by examining policies like the Cybersecurity Strategy and the Digital Services Act. The dialogue aims to address gendered norms in these frameworks and their implications on marginalized groups and civil society.
The key here is that the offline context is such a key to it, the offline world is the extension of the online world...When it comes to cybercrime, men are more likely to commit cybercrime especially those that are the extension of family or partner abuse...and women still have many other vulnerabilities such as income, access to education but importantly the digital divide and the gender digital divide in how they are being enabled to use online spaces.
The following speakers were also featured on the panel:

Pavlina Pavlova (#STMIC Fellow, New America)
