The Early & Elementary Education Policy program works to ensure all children have access to high-quality early learning opportunities from birth through third grade. Our experts support a bold agenda that prioritizes high-quality opportunities for all, empowers well-prepared and fairly compensated educators to do their best work, and connects smoothly with elementary education and systems to support family well-being.
Our team conducts policy research and analysis, presents innovative policy recommendations, and works in coalition with parents, educators, and policymakers to advance children’s learning, support families, and honor the vital role of educators.

Today we find ourselves at a crossroads of unprecedented technological dominance and profound societal challenges. There is a heightened urgency to steer innovation toward the public good while advocating for better safeguards. New America’s Technology & Democracy issue area is dedicated to shaping a digital ecosystem that is safer, open, and inclusive. We conduct research and advance policy to ensure technology serves the common good; strengthen affordable and universal access to information; and re-envision tech policy to strengthen security and protect fundamental rights.
