    Future of Proxy Warfare

    Future of Proxy Warfare

The Future of Proxy Warfare Initiative is a joint project of New America’s Future Security program and Arizona State University’s Center on the Future of War. The initiative examines the role of proxy warfare in today’s conflicts, and the ways globalization, technological advances, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and the rise of transnational non-state movements reshapes requires an update of the way policymakers and scholars study and understand the character of proxy warfare and its current manifestations in Syria, Libya, Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Ukraine, among other places.

    Future of Institutions

    Future of Institutions

The Future of Institutions initiative explores how global institutions can be reimagined to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century—from climate change and technological disruption to inequality and democratic erosion. We bring together experts from across sectors to develop research, tools, and strategies for institutions that are more participatory, networked, and people-centered.

By prioritizing the well-being of communities and the planet over narrow state interests, we aim to strengthen governance frameworks to address complex, interconnected global crises.

    Foreclosure and Eviction Analysis Tool

    Foreclosure and Eviction Analysis Tool

The Foreclosure and Eviction Analysis Tool (FEAT) is a first-of-its-kind web application that helps housing leaders better understand evictions and foreclosures in their communities.

Each year, millions of families across the country are faced with eviction or foreclosure. These forced displacements splinter communities, have adverse impacts on health, economic mobility, and education, and can trap families in cycles of housing instability. And yet, we know very little about eviction and foreclosure.

Developed by New America’s Future of Land and Housing program and DataKind, the Foreclosure and Eviction Analysis Tool allows users to understand where housing loss is most acute, when during the year housing loss is occurring, and who is most impacted. Municipal leaders, researchers, and community-based organizations have used FEAT to produce analysis about evictions and foreclosures that informs policies, programs and intervention strategies to improve housing security in their communities.
