Jabari Cook
Policy Researcher, New America Chicago
Jabari Cook serves as a policy researcher with New America Chicago, investigating online fraud and financial stability.
He is a fourth-year doctoral candidate pursuing a joint degree in Sociology and Social Policy at Princeton University. His primary research interests include poverty, safety net programs, tax expenditures, and the causes and consequences of economic insecurity among marginalized communities.
Cook spent two years as a Research Assistant at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) prior to beginning their PhD. While at CBPP, he studied and helped advocate for federal fiscal policies aimed at supporting low- and moderate-income households. He also previously examined employment and income trajectories among disadvantaged youth while interning at The Brookings Institution.
Cook graduated with a BA in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
