Mei Fong

New America Fellow

Mei Fong was a Class of 2016 & 2017 New America Fellow. Her book about the effects China’s one-child policy, One Child: The Past and Future of China’s Most Radical Social Experiment, was published in February 2016. (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.) Previously, she taught at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School and worked for over a decade as a foreign correspondent for The Wall Street Journal. She won a shared Pulitzer Prize in International Reporting for her work on China, as well as awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and Society of Publishers in Asia. Fong is a graduate of the National University of Singapore and has an M.A. in international relations from Columbia University.
