Didi Kuo is a fellow in the Political Reform program. She was a Class of 2018 Eric & Wendy Schmidt Fellow at New America. She will write a book on the collapse of political parties across Western democracies and its implications for democratic reform. She manages the Program on American Democracy in Comparative Perspective at Stanford University's Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law. Her first book, Clientelism, Capitalism, and Democracy, is forthcoming from Cambridge University Press. She holds a BA from Emory University, an MSc in economic history from Oxford University, where she studied as a Marshall Scholar, and a Ph.D. in political science from Harvard University.
