Carly Anderson

Carly Anderson is the Director of Communications at New America. With more than a decade of communications expertise focusing on media relations, events, social media, and strategic planning, Anderson has worked with nonprofits, research institutions, and various private industry sectors to advance forward-thinking organizational missions through creative, wide-reaching communications strategies.

Anderson most recently worked at international development government contractor organizations, establishing a communications and events team and promoting various economic growth projects throughout Africa, Asia, Central America, and Europe. She also led in-person, hybrid, and virtual events in Washington, DC, and globally. Previously, Anderson worked at Brookings Metro, where she managed media relations and social media to promote more than 93 reports.

Anderson has a master’s degree from American University’s School of International Service in International and Intercultural Communication, and a bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University in Political Science. Anderson is from Utah and lives in Washington, DC.
