Molly Martin Promoted to Vice President of Development & Strategy at New America

WASHINGTON, DC (July 24, 2026): New America is pleased to announce the promotion of Molly G. Martin to Vice President of Development & Strategy. In this role, Martin will fundraise for, design, implement, and measure various strategic opportunities that advance New America’s mission.

Martin has served as New America’s Director of Strategy since 2022, guiding organization-wide priorities and turning ambitious ideas into actionable outputs. From 2017 to 2021, she led New America Indianapolis, working alongside Rust Belt communities to advance racial and economic equity.

“Molly has a rare talent to connect long-term vision with the executional work required to achieve outcomes,” said Paul Butler, New America’s Interim CEO and President & Chief Transformation Officer. “Her strategic insight, collaborative leadership, and deep commitment to New America’s mission will help us further align our goals, partnerships, and resources in pursuit of big ideas and bold solutions that work for everyone.”

Before joining New America, Martin spent 10 years at Lumina Foundation focused on organizational learning, effective philanthropic practice, and higher education policy. She has also worked at Butler University and Indiana University, directed marketing for a health care startup, and earned recognition as an award-winning freelance writer.
