Beginning with the COVID pandemic and continuing through expansive funding brought about by the American Rescue Plan, news coverage of child care in the United States has surged. With this increased attention, the stories of families, educators, children, and those affected by the child care crisis in this country gained new audiences. As part of a long-standing mission to promote high-quality journalism on work and care, the Better Life Lab offered a series of grants to reporters to tell the story of child care and its pivotal role in our economy, communities, businesses, and families. This report highlights the articles and video documentary created as a result. By supporting independent writers and content creators, the Better Life Lab continues to play a crucial role in keeping the need for child care solutions at the forefront of the national conversation.
