Michael Razeeq
#ShareTheMicInCyber Fellow, 2024 Class
2024 #ShareTheMicInCyber Fellow Michael Razeeq spoke with Rubrik Zero Lab's Data Security Decoded podcast on his work on civilian cyber corps (C3). Continuing his research and advocacy of C3's, Michael elaborates on how organizations and states can frame the benefits and costs of C3's, and how there is a direct connection between cybersecurity and human security.
I don't think [looking at cost-savings] is the best measure of success or should be the only measure of success…You might have a small business or a small non-profit that falls victim to a cyberattack, and in terms of dollars, maybe the savings isn't necessary high, but in terms of preventing critical data from being lost, how do you value that? Or in terms of making sure a business that serves the community continues to operate? There's some intangible values, so the quantitative measures of success are definitely important, but this is also a space where capturing the qualitative measures are just as important…Capturing these stories are just as important to demonstrate this is what these organizations do on a human level and how they serve the community.
