Data and Strategic Impact Lead, New Practice Lab

Devyani Singh is the Data and Strategic Impact Lead at the New Practice Lab at New America, where she works to make public services more effective for families and communities facing economic vulnerability.
At the Lab, her work focuses on translating data into strategy and action, shaping how the Lab plans and prioritizes its work, and supporting partners in designing, delivering, and measuring programs in areas like tax credits, paid leave, and early childhood services.
Before joining the New Practice Lab, Singh worked at the tech nonprofit Crisis Text Line, where she used data to help shape how the organization understood and responded to mental health needs and access across the United States. She has worked with organizations including the Aspen Institute and MIT’s Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), focusing on how evidence can inform decisions around equitable access to education, labor market outcomes, and small business support in both U.S. and international contexts.
She holds a master’s degree in development economics and international business from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
Singh lives in Seattle and spends her free time reading, exploring the creeks, woods, and trails of the Pacific Northwest, and planning long road trips with her family.
