Earlier this month, New America’s Early Education Initiative released Building Strong Readers in Minnesota: PreK-3rd Grade Policies That Support Children’s Literacy Development, a report examining state policies and local initiatives in Minnesota that aim to improve literacy outcomes for all students from pre-K through third grade. Following the release, Laura Bornfreund and I presented on the report in Minneapolis and hosted a lively panel discussion with leaders in Minnesota’s preK-3rd grade space. A recording of the event is now available online for anyone who wasn’t able to attend in person. Find it here. For more on how Minnesota is preparing children to read on grade level by the end of third grade, check out last week’s article in The New America Weekly, New America’s weekly digital magazine.”
