T.J. Kirkpatrick

T.J. Kirkpatrick is a documentary photographer based in Washington, DC. He is a California native and studied journalism at Boston University. Kirkpatrick started his career in community newspapers in New England, then shifted to international humanitarian coverage before settling into freelance photojournalism focused on national politics. His professional and personal work centers on advancing an awareness of the people and environments around us. He slows down to better connect with my surroundings, finding humanizing moments and joy within the ordinary. Ultimately, Kirkpatrick’s work invites viewers to be curious about the world around them and question what they know and believe.
