Erica Meade
Policy Director, New Practice Lab
Erica Meade is Policy Director for the New Practice Lab at New America. Meade is an experienced social and economic policy specialist focused on economic mobility and family well-being, particularly interested in centering human experiences to design and deliver innovative policies and programs that improve outcomes for families and increase the efficiency of government spending.
Prior to joining New America, Meade spent over a decade conducting policy analysis and research as a Senior Analyst in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Her work informed the development of evidence-based solutions promoting family economic security and well-being.
Meade also served on the U.S. Interagency Council on Economic Mobility, the Interagency Reentry Council, and task forces addressing emergent immigration issues. Across this work, she focused on integrated service access and delivery.
Meade holds a master's degree in public affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Kentucky.
