Allison Zhang
Development Manager
Allison Zhang serves as the Development Manager at New America, where she supports the organization’s fundraising and partnership efforts through cross-team collaboration, strategic planning, and a strong commitment to operational excellence. She brings a passion for social impact, extensive experience in international development, and a dedication to fostering inclusive and effective systems.
Before joining New America, Zhang was a Business Development Officer at World Learning, where she led end-to-end proposal development processes for U.S. government donors, including USAID, the Department of State, and U.S. embassies worldwide. Her work focused on advancing education, youth workforce development, and civil society across diverse global regions.
Previously, Zhang held roles at a federal contractor organization, where she contributed to knowledge management, live proposal coordination, and internal systems improvements for the business development team. She is recognized for her ability to drive efficient workflows, maintain meticulous records, and communicate effectively across teams and time zones.
Zhang holds a master’s degree in international development studies from the George Washington University (GWU), where she specialized in improving the economic well-being of women and smallholder farmers in rural contexts. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in international affairs from GWU.
