Guns in the Hands of Artists

A Gallery Exhibition at New America
Event

New America is proud to host Guns in the Hands of Artists, an exhibition from New Orleans artists Brian Borrello and Jonathan Ferrara to further the conversation about guns in our society with art as the catalyst for dialogue.

Decommisioned guns taken off the streets of New Orleans were disseminated to artists to use as the raw materials in their art. Painters, glass artists, sculptors, photographers, poets, and other artists used the once deadly weapons in their medium to express a thought, make a statement, open a discussion and stimulate thinking about guns in our culture.  This exhibition has traveled the country to the Aspen Institute, Washington University in St. Louis, Art Basel Miami Beach and most recently Minneapolis. To learn more about this exhibition, visit the Jonathan Ferrara Gallery website.

This exhibition will be on display at New America from September 21st through October 7th and will be open to the public between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. All of the works in this exhibition will be located outside of the Main Event Space on the 9th floor. We ask that guests please be mindful of the office environment.
