Innovative Ways to Improve Communication and Build Trust in Schools

2024-25 LSX Focus Fellows

Over the course of one school year, the LSX Focus Fellows—three school leaders, a learning scientist, a social entrepreneur, a journalist, and a community consultant/children’s book author—designed tools to deepen family engagement at three elementary schools in soutwestern Pennsylvania. Their projects, created with and for families and educators in each school, are examples of low-cost ways to build trust and lasting relationships between parents, caregivers, school leaders, and teachers. In the video below, you'll hear about the inspiration and process behind their innovations, which you can explore further in our blog post and policy brief.
