The Silver Lining to the Mortgage Mess

If you look hard enough, you can usually find a silver lining out of a tragedy. Sometimes you have to look pretty hard though, and sometimes the clouds are very dark. I think that’s the case as it relates to the on-going foreclosure crisis in the US. We’ve called it “The Mortgage Mess” as much as anything else, and written about some policies with potential to make things better (opt-out mediation, bankruptcy court action, as well as others). Unfortunately, there continues to be nothing but bad news on this front.

Well, almost nothing.

Last night, John Oliver of the Daily Show delivered some fine (and blue) comedy on the topic, I hope this isn’t all we get on the silver lining side, but it’s a pretty good start given how bad the storm has been:
