The Official Name for the Bayelsa State CDA Pilot!

Dear Readers,

Baylesa State Governor, Timipre Sylva has approved an official name of our project! Formerly known as the Bayelsa State CDA Pilot Project, now we are:

Bayelsa CDA STARS

That stands for:

Bayelsa Child Development Accounts: Savings, Training, And Rewarding Savers

I like the name a lot—it manages to encompass the goals and methods of the project into one acronym.

Since this is the first policy project of its kind, it is important to have a name that is both easy to understand and symbolic of the heights we hope the participants will achieve. 

We submitted a list of options to His Excellency, and these are the other ones he considered:

·         YEI: Youth Empowerment Initiative or Young Empowered Investors

·         SAVES: Saving Allows Victory in Every Season

·         YES: Youth Empowered to Save

We’re designing a logo to go with our new name, so stay tuned for a post with our new logo!
