Abstract

The Pentagon is talking about a new global "competitive space," but what does that really mean and who is winning? This piece looks at American and Chinese strategy, policy, and investments, and the role that a third party, specifically Japan, may be able to play in keeping the competitive space from becoming a conflict zone.
