New Video: Breaking Down the Barriers to Quality Pre-K
In case you missed it, Pre-K Now broadcast their annual National Conference yesterday afternoon. This year’s theme was “Breaking Down the Barriers to Quality Pre-K,” with a webcast that featured video profiles of a program in Illinois that partners with home-based childcare providers to introduce children to the benefits of high-quality pre-k, a successful cooperative program in Wisconsin that brings together a diverse array of providers to share ideas and best practices, and a professional development system in North Carolina that helps pre-k teachers improve their skills and advance their careers. The conference also featured discussions with ten early childhood experts, including Linda Smith of NACCRRA, Prof. David Kirp of the University of California, Berkeley, and former Assistant Deputy Secretary of Education Nina Rees.
