In 2017, nearly 75 percent of all post-secondary faculty were white. Five percent were Latino, 6 percent were black, and 11 percent were Asian. The numbers for full time, tenured faculty were even more stark.

Latina women made up merely 1 percent of full time professors, while Latino men, Black males, and females only made up 2 percent. Overall, women were less likely to serve in tenured positions, constituting only 34.3 percent of all full time professors in 2018.
