Liz Warren is Running for Senate

Elizabeth Warren announced her campaign for Senate today via video. Her takeaway message is summed up squarely by the banner on her homepage, “A Champion for the Middle Class.”

Ezra Klein has a solid read on the interesting dynamics surrounding her run for Senate. I imagine there will be lots to say on this in the near future, but I’d like to focus on some of our more parochial interests. For instance, when she was last here at New America, Professor Warren said she’d rather stab herself in the eye than run for Senate:

So there you have it, she’s gone and done it. There’s an easy way this could have been prevented, maybe Senator Brown’s people should have kept a cork handy?
