New America joined 38 other organizations representing students, institutions, civil rights advocates, veterans, and other advocates in supporting the Understanding the True Cost of College Act, bipartisan legislation from Sens. Grassley, Smith, and Ernst. The bill would take much-needed steps to ensure students have access to comparable, comprehensive information about their financial aid offers using standard terms and formats. New America's own research with uAspire shows that students have too little access to clear information before making one of the most expensive decisions of their lives.
