This week in our Early Ed Forum, we have posted links to three new resources for community-based providers and school districts who are seeking to implement PreK-3rd reforms:
1) A brief on how to align states’ work on Quality Rating and Improvement Systems (QRIS) with efforts to achieve a more seamless system of early learning up through the third grade. It was written by Kristie Kauerz and Abby Thorman and published by the BUILD Initiative.
2) A brief on how the school district in Appleton, WI used Title I from the 2009 stimulus bill to launch a comprehensive birth-to-five initiative. It was written by Hannah Mathews and published by the Center for Law and Social Policy.
3) A report on building a system of professional preparation for teachers in infant-and-toddler settings. (A summary is also in this week’s Early Ed Watch.)
You can find these reports and more on the resources page within the forum. Know of others we should include? Make your views known in the forum discussion areas and let us know what kinds of practical information have been most helpful in your communities.
